Term 2 Is Done! Term 2 Reflection

Backward-Looking:

What have been your learning highlights this term?

One of my highlights of this term is Teach the Teacher which was fun! I loved it because I got to teach the teacher how to play hockey and sweet as groovy skills to hitting the ball. Also some of the students came to learn how to play hockey too which made me feel like a real teacher!

What were your Learner Profile goals for Term 2? Have your goals changed? Are you on track to meet your goals?

I think I have used all the Learner Profile goals for this term. My goals have been probably one time the same because I thought that I needed to work on the goal more. I personally think that I have totally met my goals.

Outward-Looking:

If you were the teacher, what comments would you make about your learning so far?

I would comment that I am getting along with self directed learning very well lately. Lots non-negotiables are being done each day of the week. I would also say that I am communication and collaborating with others a lot for DLOs and other interdependent tasks.

Forward-Looking:

As you look back at your learning so far, what's one thing that you would like to try to improve upon?

I think I should improve on doing my tasks with more detail. When I look back at my tasks, there are not many statements about what I learnt while doing which activity I’ve done. I really think the main thing I need to improve on is putting more detail in my work so the reader or my check-in partner/s can understand what I am trying to share.

ANZAC Reflection!

What:

I have learn’t that WW1 in Gallipoli was very important and many people went out to war which was really brave. I also found out lots of information on the internet and in books about what people served as and how they helped the soldiers like nurses and stretcher-bearers.

So What:

McCahon class and I have been learning about the ANZAC’s because it was coming up to the 100th ANZAC day and WW1 is really special. It’s special because the war was really different than others, they had no technology and soldiers dug up trenches where they took cover.

Now What:

Now I understand why and how the ANZAC’s were important, why the soldiers went to war and how brave they all were. What I learn’t was that lots of men left their homes at the age around 17 and they communicated to their families’ by sending letters.

Week 8 Reflection

What?

This week I have done 4 easTTle tests. In my 2 reading L3 and L4 tests I got a 4P! In my Math test L3 I got another 4P! My Math L4 test I got a…. 4A!

So what?

I am getting better and achieving lots of goals on the way! One of my math goals are to “Make sensible estimates and check the reasonableness of answers,” which I think I’ve achieved. My reading goal is to “Correctly understand and work out the information presented in visual texts,” which I am really good at.

Now what?

I am going to find new goals and in my reading and maths work I am going to try to achieve the national standard or even higher! I’m also going to learn my basic facts and my reading skills to try get a higher score in my coming tests.

My Week 4 Reflection!

What:

We are learning to understand the author's purpose. The book I’m reading is War Games. It’s about friendship and even though you're a little different, you can still have some things in common.

So What:

Learning about the author’s purpose helps me with understanding the text. It also helps me evaluate and think of what the book is like. Sometimes it helps me to understand what the author is trying to say and what they mean.

Now What:

I can use this to improve my reading skills and understand better what the author means. I will practice evaluating and understanding the text so I understand what I am reading in many different ways.

Stop Motion "I Love My Chromebook" Reflection

Here is my reflective Statement for my Stop Go Animation video!

Reflection: Use the prompts on the IWB to reflect on the learning you did as part of the stop animation you made. Successful learners can also identify their next steps.

I think our Stop Motion Movie was great because we didn’t have too much detail and we had a perfect amount of pictures. We were quite creative with the drawings we made and maybe next time we could try not to get our fingers in the photo. My next step would be to make sure there are enough pictures for each scene so it could be long enough to read or observe.

My What?, So What?, Now What? Reflection

What?

In my amazing adventure in Genius Hour, I have been through a lot. I have been: Researching, Publishing, Decorating and much more. It was a lot of work but at least I speeded through it.

So What?

With this great idea of Genius Hour, I get to choose what topic I want to learn! It helps us to create interest in individual things. It helped me so much because you don’t need the teacher nagging on and on about what you have to do all the time.

Now What?

I am going to try decorate my work even more so it will look eye catching and so it will look pretty and not plain on boring. Also, I am going to try make sure that everything makes sense and add in some images that is related to the text.
